AKCP securityProbe5ESVA – Professional monitoring with video integration

AKCP securityProbe5ESVA

The AKCP securityProbe5ESVA is an advanced monitoring solution that combines security monitoring, environmental management, and access control in a single system. For organizations focused on stability, comprehensive environmental surveillance, and reliable alerting, the 5ESVA represents one of the most versatile IT monitoring hardware platforms available today.

The system reliably monitors critical parameters such as temperature, humidity, smoke, water leaks, power consumption, and unauthorized access. Additionally, it supports direct video monitoring with up to four connected cameras (including PTZ control). This combination makes the securityProbe5ESVA a complete infrastructure monitoring and security ecosystem.

Up to 500 sensors can be connected through expansion modules, allowing the platform to scale from small IT environments to large data center installations. Whether used for facility management monitoring, industrial operations, or telecommunications sites, the 5ESVA delivers flexibility and scalable security.

Another key advantage is its deep network integration. Supporting SNMPv3, Modbus TCP/IP, HTTPS, PHP, Perl, and Telnet, the device bridges IT and industrial communication systems. As a result, the securityProbe5ESVA seamlessly connects traditional IT monitoring with industrial automation technology.

Technical Platform

  • CPU: i.MX25 processor with embedded Linux OS
  • Memory: 128 MB NAND Flash, 128 MB SDRAM
  • Expansion: SD slot supporting up to 16 GB storage
  • Power consumption: approx. 5 Watt (optimized for 24/7 operation)
  • MTBF: approx. 400,000 hours
  • Rack design: 1U, 19-inch compatible

Connections: 8 RJ‑45 AutoSense sensor ports, RS‑485 for Modbus, USB, audio in/out, LAN, and optional GSM/3G/4G interfaces.

Sensor Integration and Modularity

The securityProbe5ESVA supports up to eight sensors directly, with expansion modules such as E‑Sensor8 or E‑Opto16 increasing capacity to 500 sensors. Supported sensor types include:

  • Temperature sensors (including thermocouples for extreme ranges)
  • Digital humidity sensors
  • Airflow sensors
  • Smoke and particulate detectors
  • Water leak sensors and detection cables
  • PIR motion, vibration, and glass-break sensors
  • Door contacts and access readers
  • AC/DC current sensors for power monitoring

Video Monitoring and PTZ Integration

A distinct feature of the 5ESVA is its video monitoring support for up to four cameras. Full PTZ control allows live panning, tilting, and zooming for targeted monitoring of server racks, entryways, or control cabinets.

Live video feeds are directly accessible from the web interface. Administrators can verify alarms immediately with image or video evidence, significantly reducing false alerts and strengthening overall site security.

Data Visualization and Reporting

The securityProbe5ESVA employs RRDTool for graphical analysis of sensor data.

  • Time-based charts in hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly formats
  • Long-term trend analysis for capacity planning
  • Local data storage or export to external systems
  • Integration with MRTG or Cacti for enterprise environments

Alarm Management and Escalation

The 5ESVA provides one of the market’s most flexible alarm management systems, supporting multiple notification channels:

  • Email (encrypted via SMTP)
  • SMS and MMS (via mobile module)
  • Telephone call alerts (with voice playback)
  • SNMP traps to network management systems
  • Fax and FTP uploads

Escalation plans can be configured for multistage alert handling. Example: if no response occurs after five minutes, the system automatically triggers a phone call. This ensures critical alerts never go unattended.

Intelligent false alarm filtering minimizes unnecessary notifications. Schedules (e.g., night-time only), hourly alert limits, and suppression of recurring events prevent alert flooding and maintain operational focus.

Audio Integration

  • Internal microphone and speaker
  • External audio input/output ports
  • Voice announcements supported for alarms
  • Audio recording for incident documentation

Application Areas

  • Data centers: rack, power, access, and climate monitoring
  • Industrial facilities: Modbus integration, UPS and generator monitoring, production areas
  • Server rooms: protection from temperature, water, and smoke events
  • Telecommunications: remote monitoring for distributed infrastructures
  • Building management: access control, fire safety, motion, and audio-based surveillance
